David Is Chosen; God Looks at the Heart

In this episode of Wonderfully Made: Bible Stories for Children, we learn how God chose David, a humble shepherd boy, to be Israel’s next king. When the prophet Samuel visits Bethlehem to offer a sacrifice, he meets Jesse and his sons, but God surprises everyone by choosing the youngest, David.

Through this story, children discover that God doesn’t see people the way we do. He looks at the heart, not the outside. Perfect for families, Sunday school teachers, and young listeners learning about trust, obedience, and God’s plan. Lesson Focus: God values a faithful heart more than appearance or strength. Ideal for: bedtime listening, children’s Bible learning, family devotion time.
