Jotham became king after his father, King Uzziah. Uzziah had become powerful, but pride led him to disobey God in the temple. Jotham made a different choice. He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord and did not repeat his father's mistake.

As king, Jotham strengthened Jerusalem, built towers and towns, and defeated the Ammonites. The Bible tells us that Jotham became mighty because he ordered his ways before the Lord his God.

But there was a problem.

Although Jotham followed the Lord, many of the people of Judah continued in their wrong ways. And beyond Judah's borders, danger was growing. Israel and Aram were becoming enemies of Judah, while the mighty Assyrian Empire was rising.

Soon God's people would face some of their greatest challenges—and prophets like Isaiah and Micah would bring them God's Word.

King Uzziah began his reign by seeking God, and the Lord wonderfully helped him. But what happened when this successful king became powerful and proud?

What happened when the prophet Elisha reached the end of his life?

In this episode of Wonderfully Made: Bible Stories for Children, we come to the final chapter of Elisha's remarkable ministry in 2 Kings 13.

When Elisha became very sick, King Jehoash of Israel came to visit him. Elisha asked the king to take a bow and arrows and gave him one final message from God: the Lord would give Israel victory over Aram.

King Jehoash struck the ground three times, and Elisha told him that Israel would defeat Aram three times.

Then Elisha died.

But an extraordinary event happened at his tomb. When the body of a dead man touched Elisha's bones, the man came back to life and stood on his feet!

This remarkable miracle reminds us that the power had never belonged to Elisha, it belonged to God. Elisha's life came to an end, but God's power remained, God's plan continued, and God's Word still came true.

What happened when King Joash saw that God's temple needed to be repaired?
