The Rumble in Blastoise's Shell | A Pokémon Battle Story about Catching a Big Feeling Early

From the podcast The Little Feather | Kids Stories for Big Feelings

·08:19
A gentle battle story for young children about catching a big feeling early. Blastoise wants to win the turn so badly that his shell rattles before the match even starts. When Ponyta's Ember comes skipping down the field, the feeling inside his shell fizzes up until it is enormous - and the water comes out of both cannons at once, sails clean over the flames, over the tall trees, and lands in the pond. Nothing met anything. Then they line up and do it again. Elsie tries showing him her tight fists. She tries the small move instead of the big one. Neither works, and the story does not pretend they do. What finally helps is not making the feeling smaller - it is letting a little of it go up into the air first, so there is room to aim the rest. Nobody is in trouble, nobody gloats, the moves never touch anybody, and the two friends walk home together at the end. The Little Feather tells original stories inspired by Pokémon - gentle stories about self-love, emotional regulation, boundaries, leadership, and gratitude. Written and told by Chris Shanku in his own voice. Every video is vetted and approved by Chris's five-year-old son. Pokémon in this story: Blastoise, Ponyta. The Little Feather is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Nintendo, Game Freak, or The Pokémon Company. #Pokemon #KidsStories #Blastoise #BattleStories #BigFeelings
