If My Blocks Could Talk

From the podcast Big Giant Book: Stories for Children

·10:18

What if your blocks could talk? What would they say? They topple and tumble and you build them back up - we imagine they sure love being blocks!

After the story, Rachel emphasizes the beauty of blocks as open-ended play materials, then Joey introduces the instruments from today’s tale.

This story features blocks as percussion (yay!) as well as some low, slow acoustic guitar. Joey discusses making beats with blocks and shares a rhythm to try at home!

Stick around for a Silly Story at the very end of this episode - this time, Joey helps Rachel with a couple portions of the story and it turns out even sillier than expected!

If your child would love a chance to fill in the blanks for next week’s Silly Story, please email their responses to the address below:

Silly Story submissions:

     1. Shape

     2. Fruit

     3. Something you build with blocks (Anything you like! A tower? A pile of snow? A troll bridge?)

Do you know any blocks-loving builders who might enjoy this story? Please be sure to share it with them, as well as anyone else you think might enjoy these tales and tunes!

If your child loves these stories as much as blocks love being construction sites, please follow or subscribe, rate/review, and never miss an episode - new every Monday!
