Snorey Books Bedtime Stories

Tonight’s story is The Gourd Family, a rhyming story about magical pumpkins. This little story happens to be written by me! The Gourds first appeared in Chickadee Magazine a couple of years ago, and to this day, it remains one of my favourite stories that I’ve written. On snoreybooks.com, check out the amazing illustrations by Kiersten Eagan, which brought this story to life on the page. 

This story is all about using our imagination—and how the world of make-believe can be a lot of fun.

Tonight, I will be reading The Little Mermaid: Part One by Hans Christian Andersen. In the first part of this tale, we are introduced to the little mermaid’s beautiful world beneath the waves, in her family’s palace at the bottom of the sea. 

The mermaid's curiosity is alighted about the human world, but she must wait until she is old enough to swim on her own, to discover what her grandmother calls "the lands above the sea."
