The Planet Storytime Podcast (PSP) is a wonderful story narration and music program for kids of all ages that provides listeners the invitation and opportunity to use their imaginations to see all the things they're hearing in each of our shows. We divide our time between providing fully original content and adaptations of timeless classics. Thomas Mitchell provides amazing narration while Paxton Stanley provides all the music and sound effects. Bringing these two talents together creates wonderful artistic synergy and great programs in the same spirit as Fred Rogers and Sesame Street. Great for bedtime, short/long road trips, or family sit-downs in the living room, PSP provides stories that appeal to all races, religions, and identities with a focus on building confidence, tolerance, and the belief that through hard work and self-awareness, anything is possible!

Greetings!
Two years ago we released a series of podcasts for TM Ganim's, Livelong - Galaxy Hopper, a 6-part series following the adventures of Livelong, “the good cloud,” who drifts from galaxy to galaxy to respond to those in need.
With narration from Thomas Mitchell and an amazing musical score and soundtrack from Dave Halverson, this complete edition of all six stories is a masterpiece of storytelling for listeners of all ages, and it's a lot of fun too.
We always anticipated releasing the full series and it's finally here! Remember to make use of the chapter markers to navigate through all six episodes.
We hope you enjoy it!
Thank you!

This will be our last encore presentation of one of our most beloved podcasts (Rikki-Tikki-Tavi) as we ramp up towards new content in 2023 which marks our 5th season!
As you may have noticed, we have stripped away our intro/outro content to help shorten the time of each of our podcasts. We've also remastered each of the encore releases in December for enhanced audio quality.
It's been a pleasure providing content to all of our loyal listeners these past 3+ years and we are stoked for another big year in 2023!

Welcome back to Planet Storytime!
We return almost three years later, to Oscar Wilde's, The Selfish Giant, adapted for the podcast by Thomas Mitchell with music by Pax Stanley.
This is a gorgeous story about the importance of overcoming selfishness, learning how to give and serve others, and the kind of magic that happens when you learn to share not only of your things, but of yourself:)

Long time no talk, PSP listeners!
2022 was a big year of transition for most of our team and for a while we felt it was maybe time to move past the Planet Storytime Podcast. But our subscriber base has continued to grow this year and we've decided to begin providing new content in 2023!
For now, we will be re-publishing our favorite episodes from the first three seasons of the show since many have not listened to those and because each story is timeless and worth checking out! For those of you who have stayed with us from 2019 on, we thank you for your loyalty and for not giving up on us! We promise to have exciting new content for you soon:)
Lastly, we are trimming out some of the intro section from each podcast so that folks can get directly to the actual story more quickly!
Let us know what you think!

Greetings!
Yes, it's been a long time since we've published any episodes. Covid finally caught up with members of our production team and did so at a time when we've been pondering the future of our podcast. For now, our production schedule remains in a slow-down mode given circumstances somewhat out of control. Regardless of our reduced production schedule, your support has not wavered even slightly - for that we, we thank you!
More material is coming in the near future, including a full stellar episode for all of the Livelong episodes! But for now, we wanted to share the latest single from our friends, Rubber Plane! "2 2 1" marks the first new single from Rubber Plane since their debut album premiered back in 2011. This is a wonderful song and anthem about love and perserverence and tackling the toxicity of hate in our world. We hope you enjoy it!
Thank you!

Welcome back to the podcast! We're happy to present our 3rd annual re-broadcast of the A Crow & Beetle Thanksgiving!
In this episode of the podcast, TM Ganim brings us another wonderful story about the need to have perspective in life when considering the numerous things all of us have to be thankful for, from the eyes of our old friends, Crow and Beetle:) This is a great story packed full of great action, themes of comraderie and gratitude, and the need to be mindful of the always present, bigger picture.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
We are pleased to be present you with a re-release of TM Ganim's classic, The Tale of the Pumpkin House!
October 28, 2019:
Who loves a good, scary Halloween story?
On Planet Storytime, the weather is starting to cool off, the leaves are changing colors, and holiday season is approaching! Halloween is one of our favorite holidays, and we are pleased to present a great Halloween tale! TM Ganim (author of "Crow and Beetle") provides us yet another instant classic with "The Tale of The Pumpkin House", a story that gives us ghosts, ghouls, witches and goblins, houses that have far more to them than meets the eye, and 8 amazing kitties! If you want to know more, you'll just have to listen to this week's show:)
Thomas Mitchell and Paxton Stanley deliver another amazing production to accompany this thrilling, creepy tale. We intend to continue developing more and more original content to accompany our development of the all-time classics from Kipling, the Grimm Bros. and many more.

Welcome back to Planet Storytime!
This week our intergalactic friends find themselves traveling to Planet Earth, where they meet Malcolm MacMinus. Helpful as always, Livelong and his faithful companion, Gonquik offer their friendship and guidance to young Malcolm, in an attempt to restore order to this stop in the universe before continuing their journey.
We appreciate everyone's patience after our fairly long break. After two years of production, we needed a couple of months to regroup and refresh but we are back with much more coming your way in the weeks ahead.
We will continue to keep everyone up to date on our website and encourage each of you to take time to subscribe there: https://planet-storytime-podcast.podsite.io/ .

Welcome back to Planet Storytime!
In this episode of the podcast, we're featuring the amazing music of Dave Halverson, composer for all of the Livelong music. Dave came onboard the podcast a few months ago and his work no Livelong is some of the best music you can hear anywhere, let alone a storytime podcast. We are so lucky to have Dave on our team and hope you enjoy this awesome 3-track medley Dave put together.
With summer coming to a close we will be returning to a more robust publication schedule in September. We truly hope everyone is staying safe and enjoying the company of friends and family and look forward to jumping into YEAR 3 of the show with all of you onboard!
Yes - in less than 2 weeks, we will cross Planet Storytime's 2nd anniversary as a podcast and we think we - kind of - know what we are doing as we look into the third year of the show. When we started out, we knew very little about what we were doing, but fairly quickly, we built an amazing, consistently loyal fanbase that seemed to enjoy our work, that has stuck with us from the beginning as many others have shown up along the way - we thank ALL of you for your support!
We have much more to share in the weeks ahead, including more Livelong, more of Mitchell's work, Beatru, Crow & Beetle, and more music from Dave Halverson and Pax Stanley!
Please send your comments, questions, love, hard dislike to planet.storytime@gmail.com and stay tuned to our website (https://planet-storytime-podcast.podsite.io/) as we get ready to start our blog and increase interactivity with our fan base.

Welcome back to Planet Storytime!!
We are very happy to present a long overdue STELLAR podcast, our first Stellar podcast in almost a year! Our Stellar episodes have been some of our most popular and they’re awesome for long road trips, long walks with headphones, lazy days, rainy days, sick days and any other time our listeners need more than just one episode.
For this edition, we have bundled up our TOP 10 most popular episodes to date (in reverse order):
(TOTAL RUN TIME: 130 MINUTES!!)
And while this feature isn’t always easy to find on some podcast apps, each of these stories have been broken into separate chapters, allowing you to hone in on the particular episode you want to hear which may be helpful for such a long podcast:)
We have truly enjoyed going back to listen to some of these stories while pondering how far we have come as podcasters with content we believe is some of the best available for kids today. With so much children’s content coming in the form of YouTube/Netflix/Disney videos, we remain firm believers that audio-only content helps spark a child’s creative imagination, empowering them to create the visuals in their minds that accompany our stories.
Big thanks to our listeners worldwide - you help push us to new levels of creativity, inspiring our original content and our newer serial/episodic stories with Beatru and Livelong. And thank you for your endless support to this point! We have so much in store for the remainder of the year so please stay subscribed and tuned in for more Livelong, Beatru and, hopefully, new Crow and Beetle stories!

On the heels of our wildly popular, Beatru Chronicles by JS Blue, we are excited to launch another serial/episodic podcast series with TM Ganim’s, Livelong Galaxy Hopper! Our pilot episode sets the stage for Livelong’s intergalactic saga and demonstrates how using our hearts allows each one of us to become galaxy hoppers, too!

The addition of Dave to Planet Storytime opens the door for more collaboration and answers our fans’ requests for more frequent episodes!

The first Livelong podcast will be out in a few weeks, so to give you some sense of the atmosphere and overall vibe, we thought the theme song would be a nice teaser for what's to come!
The "Livelong Theme Song" was written by TMG & the MBGG and produced by Paxton Stanley, with vocals by Thomas Mitchell, and performances by both Thomas and Pax. This is a wonderful, groovy, upbeat kids pop song that we think everyone will really enjoy, and maybe by listening to the lyrics, you'll get some idea of the setting for our new story, and a bit more about our main character:)
Enjoy the new song and we will be back inside a week with the next Mitchell Von Gemmigen story (and look for Livelong towards the end of May!) - thanks!

Welcome back to Planet Storytime and another classic TM Ganim original!
This marks the first time this year that we've returned to our classic format with our classic intro and a story for all ages that harkens back to our first year of production, which we know many of our listeners will appreciate!
Heavely is a story about the challenges of sticking out from the crowd given circumstances beyond one's control, and how important it is to stand firm in our love and belief in ourselves and to focus on those things we really like about ourselves. This story is another original from our amazing friend, TM Ganim and a throwback to the kind of content Planet Storytime is known for! That's not to say that Beatru won't be back because she will be in the near future, along with a brand new serial story from the aforementioned, TM Ganim! We cannot wait to hear what he has in store for all of us! But we know many you truly love our more traditional children's stories, and this new original is an instant classic. We truly hope you love it as much we do!
As always, a big shout of thanks for our continuous support from you, the listeners!
Until next time!

Welcome back to Planet Storytime!
Four months ago, Thomas and Paxton took a chance on a new story model for the podcast, releasing the first of six chapters for their new serial story, The Beatru Chronicles - Act I. As much as our production team has used the PSP podcast format as a creative sandbox for compelling children's content, and done so with a thriving and growing fanbase worldwide, we knew that Beatru's story, written to appeal to the older kids in our audience, might completely miss the mark with the bulk of our fanbase, especially those who have kept our very first episode, The Tale of Peter Rabbit - PSP 1, our all-time most popular episode.
But our team recognized that there are several children's podcasts currently available that appeal to younger children, with often less ambitious and mature content than Beatru, and we felt we needed to use our imaginations to create something that stretched our own comfort levels a bit, as we surely have with our fanbase, to create something wholly compelling, unique and sustainable beyond a single episode/podcast that leaned on Thomas and Paxton's strengths as writers and composers of original material. And as we have many times with TM Ganim, we leaned on JS Blue to provide us an original story that was unique to Planet Storytime, just like Crow & Beetle has been over the past year and a half. Once we began working on The Beatru Chronicles with JSB, we knew we were creating something very special.
And while Beatru's amazing stories may continue to be a bit of strange narrative for some of our fans, support has grown significantly since we published the first chapter on December 6th, 2020. To THOSE countless fans that have continued to support Beatru, this podcast is for YOU!
You no longer have to hop between PSP34, PSP35, PSP37, PSP38, PSP40 and PSP43 to listen to Act I as all are now combined into this podcast, with chapter markers:
Chapter 1 - The Clearing
Chapter 2 - The River and the Turtle
Chapter 3 - Stampede
Chapter 4 - Colonel Rhys
Chapter 5 - Friends in High Places
Chapter 6 - Clarity and Purpose
And if you haven't given Beatru's story a chance to this point, we encourage you to do so now! Clocking in at exactly 90 minutes, Act I works well for long road trips, rainy days and even family listening night, as many of you have told us you like to do a few times each month:)
Please enjoy the full length version of The Beatru Chronicles - Act I and stay tuned for Act II which is already in production for release later this year, perhaps by early summer! In the meantime, and for those fans who long for an awesome TM Ganim story, our very next episode will be the next TM Ganim story he's written and we can't wait to hear it, produce and release it as soon as possible!
Please visit our new website: https://planet-storytime-podcast.podsite.io/

Welcome back to Planet Storytime!!
In this episode of the podcast, we present the conclusion to ACT I of The Beatru Chronicles with "Chapter 6 - Clarity and Purpose"!!
Three months after we presented chapter 1, we've gone all the way thru to the end of ACT I of Beatru's amazing story (with two more ACTs to come out later this year!) and couldn't be more excited to share it with you!
We weren't sure how Beatru and her story would be received when we first presented her stories back in December, but each chapter has brought more and more fans to her podcasts. We are confident this may end up being your favorite so far! Thomas and Paxton deliver one of their best-ever episodes to date!
Ever since "Chapter 1 - The Clearing", Beatru has sought answers to a growing list of big, questions, explaining how she passed thru the Enigmatic Egress into the strange world she awoke to in the wood. But each answer has raised more and more questions! Chapter 6 will answer some of the biggest she has about many things, but will leave us all seeking ACT II!
To all of our Beatru fans around the world - THANK YOU for your love and support! And at the request of many of you, we will be releasing all six chapters as a single, Stellar podcast in the weeks ahead with all of ACT I in a single podcast! TM Ganim has been patiently awaiting our production of his latest original, but soon after that, we'll be releasing The Beatru Chronicles - ACT I, complete wth chapter breaks!

In this episode of the podcast, Thomas and Paxton interview the legendary, Fred Mollin! Fred's career began back in 1972 and has spanned the bulk of his lifetime...

As an artist, he has written and produced music for a series of children's albums, including Disney: Lullaby Album: Instrumental Favorites For Baby, peaking at #6 on January 26, 2001, on Billboard's Kid Album music chart; and Disney's Princess Lullaby Album, which peaked at No. 23 on October 25, 2002 (Billboard). In the interview, Fred talks about his motivation and inspiration for his amazing new album, as well as his career and his love of simply PLAYING music! It's a great discussion that we think many of our listeners will truly enjoy, especially all future musicians!
We look forward to having Fred back in the very near future where he will peform some of his favorite children's songs!
Fred - THANK YOU for your time today and for sharing some of your history and inspiration with us!

Welcome back to Planet Storytime!
In this episode, we revisit Tom Woof & Max The Owl, an amazing story written by the amazingly talented, Jane Owen! We were so happy to have Jane on our podcast for an interview a few episodes ago, where performed an awesome reading of her story, but given the limitations of using Zoom for recording, we all agreed the story deserved the full PSP production treatment, and Thomas and Paxton have done their best to create a wonderful story experience for Jane's awesome story.
The story of Tom and Max is a story about friendship, gaining perspective, and learning how to tell stories that resonate with people. It's a great lesson in how we can best interact with our family and friends in everyday life too. This is Jane's first children's story and it's an instant classic!
For more information about Tom Woof & Max The Owl, please visit:
https://www.tomwoof.com/
You can find Tom Woof & Max The Owl at Amazon and Kindle and encourage everyone to get a hard copy of the book for its wonderful art work!
Thanks again to our new friend, Jane Owen, for giving us permission to use her story for one of our podcasts - thanks Jane!
More BIG NEWS:
On Tuesday, March 16th, we will be interviewing legendary record producer, Disney composer, arranger, songwriter and music director, Fred Mollin for our next podcast! Fred's resume is so far beyond impressive and far too long to detail here, so please visit his webpage at:

Fred will be releasing a brand-new children's album called It’s Great To Be a Kid! The album will be released officially on March 12th and we'll be happy to talk to Fred about that and his career, next week.
We intend to release our interview with Fred as PSP42 on Wednesday, March 17th, so stay tuned for that!

Welcome back to Planet Storytime!
In this episode of the podcast, our first Artist Series show, we proudly present our interview with the amazing Jane Owen - founder of Jane Owen Public Relations - and first time children's author of Tom Woof and Max the Owl, an amazing children's story! We had the pleasure of interviewing Jane to learn more about her inspiration for writing the story and how the challenges we all faced as a society in 2020 led her to getting the story published.
During our interview, Jane shared the impact her great grandfather, legendary book editor, Max Perkins played on her career in public relations as well as his connection to Jane's character, Max the Owl. Max Perkins discovered Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, and Thomas Wolfe, among others, and this passion for writing has been passed down thru the generations to Jane.
There's so much more we could say about Jane and her career, but we encourage you all to listen to her reading of Tom Woof and Max the Owl and the interview that follows. And for those of you who would like to learn more about where to purchase a hard copy of the book, or to see some of the amazing artwork from the book, please visit:

Welcome back to Planet Storytime!
We start season 3 with chapter 4 from The Beatru Chronicles, "Colonel Rhys" which picks up directly after the conclusion of chapter 3 and takes us back to the riverside with Beatru and Brik as they try to escape from from the oncoming battalion of the Chairman's firehorns!
We're happy to see Beatru's podcast episodes picking up more and more support as we get deeper into the story - thank you! We will continue to shake up our show and continue to occasionally provide stories that are better suited for younger children. We also have an interview coming up with an exciting, amazing children's author who will also be a guest reader for us, reading her brand new story - but that's a secret until the next podcast:)
In the meantime - thanks for sticking with us this past year. As challening as things have been on so many different fronts, it's not hard to see that if we work to be kind, thoughtful, gracious, humble, loving, mindful, tolerant people, we can truly make the world a safer, happier place for every-single-one!
We salute those of you who continue to support our show and the humble values it tries to espouse.
We look forward to 2021 being our biggest year yet and look forward to growing with everyone here. We couldn't do this with out you.

Hello, everyone, and welcome back to Planet Storytime!
It's NYE! This is our last episode from our 2nd season and we are pleased to bring you chapter three from The Beatru Chronicles as we continue to journey with Beatru and her current challenges out on the Great Plain!
We really hope you enjoy it:)
Thank you to all who have embraced Beatru and her adventure - we truly believe you'll love this key chapter in her story!
And thanks to everyone for making season 2 such a massive success for our team! While 20 podcasts was well short of our schedule for 2020, we experienced exponential growth from where we were a year ago - and it's all because of you! Thank you for connecting with us during one of the most challenging years in recent memory, and for helping us grow - we salute each and every one:)

Season's Greetings from Planet Storytime! It's been snowing here for weeks and it's extremely chilly! But it hasn't been enough to keep us from knocking out stories as quickly as we can!
While our team has been focused on the production of The Beatru Chronicles, we wanted to share our first original Christmas story, The Story of Archie Ball, complements of guest author, Eudora Russell.
This is a wonderful Christmas story featuring the lost and out of place, Archie Ball, who finds himself amidst a long quest in search of purpose and meaning, narrated by Thomas Mitchell and featuring classic Christmas music produced by Paxton Stanley. We sincerely hope you enjoy the story!
As we get ready to turn the page on 2020, we remaing 100% focused on continuing to provide more and more stories about Beatru and her adventures but will continue to provide stories for our younger listeners from time to time. This Christmas story should appeal to our fans of all ages!
Wish you all - around the world - a very Merry Christmas and happy holiday season! Thank you for your strong support in a very difficult year - we will continue to provide content and, as promised, with much greater frequency than we had in 2020!

Welcome back to Planet Storytime!
We return this week with the second chapter from The Beatru Chronicles - The River and the Turtle.
We left off in chapter one with Beatru and Queen Kozima heading out and on to the Great Plain, having escaped from the Red Men in the forest where Beatru awoke from her dream. In chapter two, we start to understand that Beatru's situation is much larger than she realized at first and that things are only now starting to get really interesting for her.
Thomas Mitchell and Pax Stanely deliver another stellar presentation as they continue JS Blue's strange but gorgeous story about 9 year old, Beatru, a young girl in need of water and a quick path back to her brother, Dante.
We recognize that this recent shift to slightly older content may have chased off some of our loyal listeners and we apologize if the shift was, perhaps, too abrupt, but we intend to return with another younger child's story prior to the release of chapter three from The Beatru Chronicles. Planet Storytime has been a wonderful sandbox of experimentation for children's content, but we try to be as mindful as we can to our fans and the parents of our fans. If you have questions, comments, concerns or complements, please remember to reach out to us at planet.storytime@gmail.com.

Welcome back to Planet Storytime for a new podcast!
We are happy to present the first chapter in our new original serial, The Beatru Chronicles, written by JS Blue.
Beatru is a 9 year old girl who is just like any other 9 year old. She has a big brother who she adores, she loves lemonade and her favorite band, Sun Tribe 7. One day she awakens to find herself in a strange new place with mind-boggling challenges that will push her into often quick and hard decisions, each with consequences. Although she is only 9 years old, Beatru is a brave and adventerous child who uses her intellect and wittiness to navigate challenges with as much strength and grace as possible. Her journeys will take us many places on a huge, epic stage. We truly hope you enjoy her story as much as we have enjoyed making it!
We will leave the rest of the details to Thomas Mitchell and Pax Stanley who deliver another stellar podcast episode.
This is our first project with JS Blue, a longtime friend of TM Ganim.
NOTES:
- This episode dives straight into the story, bypassing our usual introduction and breathing exercise
- We will continue to occasionally produce more traditional PSP-style stories for our younger fans while maintaining a primary focus on the serial model of storytelling
Please submit any questions, comments, etc., to planet.storytime@gmail.com. And thank you for your patience as PSP34 took a few weeks longer than anticipated to publish. We do anticipate a much speedier publication schedule in 2021.
We also hope you enjoy The Beatru Chronicles! Thank you for your continued, growing support! We look forward to a big 2021 with all of you!

Welcome back to Planet Storytime!
In this episode of the podcast, we are presenting our Thanksgiving episode from last year, A Crow & Beetle Thanksgiving. Part of the decision to re-run PSP13 is tied to our current production work for our new original series, The Beatru Chronicles, which we'll be releasing with PSP34 in little over a week (more details on that below), and part is tied to the fact that we consider this to be one of our very best episodes, with two of Thomas and Paxton's favorite characters, Crow and Beetle. So if you missed this episode last year, please give it a listen this year!
We're also well aware of the fact that we are behind schedule with new content - we apologize for the delay. As we've mentioned in the past, the Planet Storytime Podcast has been largely a content experiment for our production team as we've worked hard to understand what our continually growing audience wants from the show. And given the amount of time we put into producing the show, we want to make sure that our efforts are tying back well to our fans' main interests.
Over the past 14 months since our inception, we have produced famous works from famous authors and we have produced original content. The feedback for both story types has been equally positive. But given the amount of time needed to produce our podcasts, we've opted to focus strictly on our own original content, which requires far less development/modernization time.
We're also moving to a new story-telling model with The Beatru Chronicles - a recurring, serial show with each podcast episode produced as single chapters from a much larger story we've been working on the past several months. This will not only help improve our publishing frequency but provide cliff-hangers, longer story arcs and help streamline our production schedule. Most importantly, this shift in content will help us produce better and better podcasts.
We will still occasionally produce one-offs with original content, like our Crow & Beetle stories, but our long-term plan is to focus largely on The Beatru Chronicles and other long-term series. We'd love to share more about Beatru and her adventures but would prefer to save all of that for PSP34. Suffice it to say that Beatru should appeal to our 6-and-up listeners (and hopefully most of adult listeners) who love epic adventures in the vein of C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and J.K. Rowling!
We want to thank all of you once again for your endless support - we know you want more content, faster, and it is coming! We feel cautiously confident that The Beatru Chronicles and continued focus on original content will be well-received by our fanbase and intend to have PSP34 published on Black Friday.
Stay tuned!

Welcome back to Planet Storytime!!
In this episode of the podcast, we are proud to present Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, by Rudyard Kipling. Many know and love this story, and it has been adapted many times. For Thomas and Paxton, the need to stick as closely to the original story as possible was important, given how well it is written. We did make a few changes but none of these impact the flow of the story.
If this is your first time hearing about Rikki the Mongoose, prepare for a very dramatic, exciting story about bravery, and putting others first! This is the longest single-story podcast in PSP's history and is also one of the scarier stories we've done. We would encouarge our parent-friends to consider this for any kids under age 6.
We have some exciting new material coming out in the next few weeks - stay tuned in for that in the next few weeks!
Thank you for your continued support!

Welcome back to Planet Storytime!
Today marks our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY! Hard to believe 12 months have passed since we released PSP1! We weren't sure what to expect when we started the podcast, but our goal was to create amazing content for kids of all ages and to help all our listeners make full use of their imaginations and the pictures in their head while listening to our stories. One year and 2 seasons in, it's clear that we have an amazing fanbase and friends from all over the world, and that our listeners continue to come back for more stories. We've learned a great deal over the past year and look forward to continuing to produce amazing content as we move towards the end of Season 2 and 2020.
We say it all the time, but THANK YOU(!!!!!) to all of you for supporting our show and for telling your friends about us - we would not still be here if not for each and every one of you! Please keep your emails coming to us with suggestions, ideas, things you like and even things you don't like!
In celebration of our first year together, we want to use this podcast to spotlight one of TM Ganim's most beloved poems from PSP16, However You Be. Two dear friends to our show, Ellie and Stew, recently requested a copy of However You Be to help Ellie through some challenges she's going through (hope you're enjoying it, Ellie!), and we thought we'd feature it in our anniversary show today as a tribute to Ellie and Stew, as well as all of our fans. TM's message in this poem is so important and a source of great clarity during the trying times we often find ourselves in this year. We've also included Pax's soundtrack from our last episode, The Wonderful Pump. We hope this podcast provides soothing and calming thoughts and sounds to each of you!
We have several new original stories in the works as well and will release another Stellar podcast this fall since those really seem to be a great format for our listener friends:)
Please email us with any comments, questions, praise, criticism, or collaboration ideas at planet.storytime@gmail.com. We really do make the time to read each and every email we receive and appreciate the time needed to do so.
Thank you all for listening to the Planet Storytime Podcast during our first year of production! We will continue to deliver new content for everyone as we dive headlong into year two, face to the wind!
With greatest respect and appreciation, the PSP Team!

Welcome back to Planet Storytime!
In this episode of the podcast, Thomas Mitchell and Paxton Stanley deliver one of L. Frank Baum's often overlooked classics, The Wonderful Pump, a story that dramatically illustrates how greed taints best possible outcomes and the crucial need to remain fully mindful when opportunity presents itself.
Once again, we would like to express our gratitude to all of our loyal listeners worldwide! Our audience continues to grow each week and the outpouring of support humbles the entire PSP team! THANK YOU!!
Housekeeping:
- We're less than two weeks away from our 1 year anniversary, and as we head into our second year, we have exciting changes coming, including producing 100% all-original content, and diving deeper into the history of Planet Storytime
- Before we make the change to all-original content, we have a handful of children's classics we intend to produce, including at least a pair of Rudyard Kipling's most famous works
- Given challenges with Covid-19, distributed work, digital learning, etc., our production schedule has lagged behind our intended plans for 2020; we promise that our publication frequency will increase back to 2-3 podcasts/months as soon as possible
- Our much anticipated website will finally roll out in the next few weeks as well
We could literally spend 1000 words expressing our gratitude for your support but we know the best 'thank you' back to all PSP fans is to get more content into everyone's ears. Our first year was largely an experiment to gauge interest levels and overall sustainability. Suffice it to say that the overwhelmingly positive feedback and subscriptions have convinced us to continue making podcasts indefinitely!
Thank you, loyal listeners! Without you our show could not exist!

Welcome back to Planet Storytime!
We appreciate your patience with the delay to publish this week's podcast. As Pax elluded to on our landing page, we had some major technical challenges with our studio that delayed us by 3 weeks and for that we are very sorry! We are back and happy to provide another TM Ganim story and a great story to help kick off the summer with The Victors Go To The Pool!
Whether we look different, talk different or stand apart in any way from those around us, it's important to embrace who we are - bask in it, and celebrate ourselves as the one-of-a-kind, unique human beings we all are. We all eventually learn that we cannot always please everyone, and recognizing that helps us understand that worrying about such things limits our ability to be the happiest version of ourselves we can be.
This is another great TM story that teaches us to stand up for ourselves and to ignore the doubters!
We hope your enjoy this week's podcast!

Welcome back to Planet Storytime!
In this episode of the podcast, we get a brand new TM Ganim story with The Misdirection! This is our 3rd story featuring the odd couple - the crow and the beetle - and their continued struggle to balance some odd form of friendship with their natural roles as predator and prey. In this story, we learn the importance of being quick on your feet and how best to work against the odds.
Thanks to everyone who downloaded Pax's instrumental story in PSP25 last week! It was far more popular than anticipated:) It also laid the groundwork for future stories about our actual home, Planet Storytime! Stay tuned for more stories about our homeworld!
We thank you for your continued support!
Enjoy the show!

Greetings everyone and welcome back for a new podcast from our team at Planet Storytime! Only, for PSP25, we are giving Thomas Mitchell a quick break while he finishes work on PSP26 (w/ TM Ganim), for the next Crow and Beetle story! PSP26 will be our third Crow and Beetle story and we couldn't be more excited to find out what our odd couple is up to in their next adventure:)
For this episode of the podcast, Paxton Stanley provides a musical/soundtrack story using only music to tell the story of the first pioneers to discover Planet Storytime! The origins of Planet Storytime will become more and more clear as we begin to share more and more stories about its history and magic, but for our first foray into Planet Storytime lore, we present you with Finding Planet Storytime, a musical story about our first travelers to the place we call home!
This soundtrack features a large, cosmos-sized soundscape and leaves much space for the imagination to explore - we hope you enjoy this week's episode!
Thank you for your amazing, growing support and please tell your friends about us! And please feel free to reach out and tell us, hello! We'd love to do some new shout-outs!

We hope your enjoyed PSP23 throughout the month of April! Many people did as it became our most downloaded episode in only a few short weeks!
We are happy to return with a truly timeless classic, written by Hans Christain Andersen, The Emperor's New Clothes, with narration from Thomas Mitchell and soundtrack by Pax Stanley. We really hope you enjoy the new podcast!
Thank you once again for your continued support. Our podcast continues to gain more and more new fans and we could not be happier about that! Welcome to Planet Storytime, and Happy April Fools Day!!
We know things back on earth are very challenging right now with most families in our audience relegated to sheltering at home with limited ability to socialize. We thought it was long past time to present another STELLAR podcast to help fill some of your time while sheltering together!
In this episode of the podcast, we present to you 5 of our amazing stories that haven't received as much attention as most of our others: Crow and Beetle, The Lazy Man and the Squirrel, How The Bald Man Came to Be, by TM Ganim, along with Bremen Town Musicians and Hans In Luck, by the Brothers Grimm.
(This podcast has chapter markers for each story)
We would like to thank Scott Gilbertson and WIRED magazine for putting us in their latest article about the best podcasts for kids for sheltering at home! This is the second time WIRED has promoted our podcast and we remain both humbled and greatful!
https://www.wired.com/story/best-podcasts-for-kids/
Thanks, Scott!! We hope you and your family are sheltering safely and are able to enjoy our latest Stellar podcast:)
These are challenging times and we encourage everyone to remember to take a deep breath, hold it, and let it out, a few times each day. We will make it through this together and we will continue to provide more and more episodes and new content in the weeks and months ahead.
As always, we thank all of you for love and support!

We want to thank everyone for their patience during the past four weeks! We had some things that required our full attention - we had some friends we had to help. Happy New Year!
With each new year comes the opportunity for each of us to strive for new goals, new ways of thinking, and true enlightenment. For the team at Planet Storytime, we look forward to continuing to provide amazing stories in 2020 and beyond, and kick this year off with Oscar Wilde's, The Selfish Giant, adapted for the podcast by Thomas Mitchell with music by Pax Stanley. This is a gorgeous story about the importance of overcoming selfishness, learning how to give and serve others, and the kind of magic that happens when you learn to share not only of your things, but of yourself:)
Housekeeping
- The new website is very close to launch! This will provide an easy stop to download episodes, subscribe to the podcast, read our upcoming blog series in the many reasons why we do this show and believe in its power to help strengthen young minds and older ones as well
- Starting with PSP18, we will no longer be adhering to a strict, every Monday schedule, as much of our work in the new year will be focused on the development of new, original material and will, at times, take us longer than a week to produce; we expect our pace will average 3 episodes per month, but don't hold us to that - we may deliver more or less, depending on the material
- We will be returning to the 'Stellar' podcasts which summarize all the previous months' episodes into one episode as these shows have been extrememly popular with our listeners
- We will also be releasing our "Best Planet Storytime Podcasts of 2019" in the weeks ahead which will combine our 10 most popular episodes from 2019
Shoutouts
- We want to say thank you to Daniel Altiere for his time in the past week. Daniel is responsible for some really big kids movie screenplays over the past 10 years, and he was kind enough to spend some time with us this week - thanks, Daniel!
- A big shoutout to Caleb and Carly for becoming our first two official listeners and a huge source of inspiration for our show and two of our most loyal fans!
- A big shoutout to all of our fans worldwide! Our show is now played in 27 countries all around the globe and we want to say thanks to all of you for your support!
Until next time!

Happy Holidays from Planet Storytime!
We hope you get to spend some happy times with friends and family over the current holiday season:) In this episode of the podcast, we wanted to give everyone a story about bravery, love, generosity and living together in harmony to help celebrate the season, and our dear friend, TM Ganim, was kind enough to share yet another one of his amazing stories for this week's show with, The Bear The Light and The Sacred Night! We hope you love it as much as we did.
Also, we wanted to wish everyone a safe and happy winter holiday as we get ready to take a few weeks off to regroup, launch our website, and focus on the content we will be providing on Planet Storytime in 2020. The support everyone has given us has been wonderful and proof to us that we should continue making podcasts for our growing audience:)
We will return with PSP18 on January 13th.
Until next time, take good care of yourselves, enjoy your loved ones, be grateful to have them in your life, and keep using your imagination to see just how powerful your brain truly is!
Happy Holidays!!!
Goodbye for now!

Welcome to Planet Storytime!
In this episode of the podcast, Thomas narrates two wonderful short works: his adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's How The Rhino Got His Skin, with an awesome soundtrack from Paxton Stanley, and a gorgeous poem by TM Ganim, called However You Be.
We are huge fans of both Kipling and TM Ganim and truly hope you enjoy both of our shorts today!
Coming next week...
TM Ganim has been hard at work finishing his first holiday story for the show which we'll have out next Monday, December 23rd, for PSP17! Don't miss it!

Welcome back to Planet Storytime!
In this episode of the podcast, Thomas Mitchell and Pax Stanley present their adaptation of Hans In Luck, by the Brothers Grimm, a story that reminds us that attitude and perspective play the biggest roles in how we view good/bad luck, and happiness in general. This story was adapted for the podcast by Thomas with all original music by Pax.
On the horizon...
- Our new website rolls out in January which will feature easy access to all of our podcasts, our upcoming blog, interviews with popular children's story creators, and listener-supported-only content, including the music soundtrack for each episode, contests, opinion polls, and much more!
- There are rumors on Planet Storytime that TM Ganim is putting the finishing touches on a new holiday story for us for release later this month...stay tuned!
- We've received several requests for a "Stellar Vocabulary" segment on the podcast. Look for this new section to be included in future episodes and eventually retrofit to ALL of our episodes. We believe young minds thrive when they're stretched ever so slightly, and for our younger listeners, this will give them defnitions for our larger words!
Our podcast continues to grow and we continue to gain new subscribers. We cannot thank all of you enough for your amazing love and support! Thank You!!

Greetings!
We hope everyoe had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with friends and family! Since we too celebrate Thanksgiving on Planet Storytime, we took the week off from story development to enjoy some quality time with our families and the associated travel took some time away from our storytelling. Our Stellar Podcasts have been a huge hit since many of our listeners like the longer format, and we will continue to produce these every month. We thought now would be a good time to put together our first Stellar Top 5 Episodes Podcast, showcasing our 5 most popular episodes thru our first 3 months:
1) The Tale of Peter Rabbit
2) Crow and Beetle
3) The Tale of The Pumpkin House
4) How The Camel Got His Hump
5) The Queen Bee
In this episode of the podcast, we present each of these episodes (in reverse order) for you in one show, making it great for road trips or even before bedtime. We were happy to see how diverse this list is, with 5 awesome stories from 4 different, amazing authors. We truly hope you enjoy these stories and we look forward to providing a new episode with a newly develped story next Monday, December 9th.
Thanks again for your support, and so long for now!

We've also noticed that our listeners seem to really like the much longer, Stellar Podcast series we started after September. Given that this is a busy holiday week, we will not be providing a new episode again until Monday, December 9th, so we will be combing our top 5 most popular episodes into one Stellar Top 5 Stories Podcast for PSP14, so be looking for that!
We wish everyone in the Planet Storytime Universe a very happy, Thanksgiving! We truly appreciate your love and support and hope you really enjoy A Crow and Beetle Thanksgiving!

Greetings from Planet Storytime!
IN this episode of the podcast, we are proud to present another original story by TM Ganim, How The Bald Man Came To Be. This is a classic tale about the true definition of beauty and which traits make us a great person and which traits truly do not matter.
Also, we make use of music from one of the greats - Bedřich Smetana's, "Dance of the Comedians", from his comic opera, The Bartered Bride, arranged and adapted for our story by *Pax Stanley.
* all music except for "Reckoner's Theme" and "Pace of the Bald Men" (P Stanley), written by Bedřich Smetana; ALL music arranged, recorded, edited and produced by Paxton Stanley.
Enjoy the show!

TM Ganim provides us another great story and this one targets the problem with laziness. As much a lesson for parents as kids, the lazy man shows us the true price of not only laziness and distancing one's self from the work of our team, but how procrastination almost always compounds the problems associated with leaving work to another time.
Thomas and Paxton deliver another great production as the show moves (suddenly!) into its 3rd month of existence.
Thank you to everyone who tuned in to check out last week's, The Tale of The Pumpkin House - we truly hope you enjoyed our first Halloween special! And thank you to all of you for your kind words and endless support! We could not do this without you:)

How did the camel get its hump anyway? And how important is it to pull your own weight and to work hard in life? In our first Rudyard Kipling story, Thomas Mitchell seeks to answer these questions with yet another amazing example of his wonderful narration. Paxton Stanley brings another gorgeous music soundtrack to this classic tale.
This will be the first of many Kipling works we develop for the show and we truly hope you enjoy our first!

When Lucie loses her pocket handkerchiefs, as she had so many times before, she has to go on a search to find them. But nothing could prepare her for who should would meet on her hunt!
The Tale of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle, our second Beatrix Potter production, reminds us how important it is not to judge anyone based on appearances, and that sometimes the oddest of those we come across on a given day, can be the most helpful and most heroic.

What do you do when faced with one of life's major inconvenieces? Get creative? Avoid it entirely? With Crow and Beetle, we learn that most of life's challenges are best managed head-on, with a clear, creative mind, an honest heart, and belief in one's self. We also learn that, often, even enemies can become friends.
Thomas Mitchell delivers his most amazing work to date with Planet Storytime's first original story. Paxton Mitchell provides a beautiful soundtrack to accompany this amazing tale.

Greetings, beloved denizens of Planet Storytime!
IN this episode of the podcast, we bring you an encore presentation of The Selfish Giant by Oscar Wilde, one of the world’s greatest writers. This is the tale of a very selfish giant, his wonderful garden, the curious and playful village children, and, of course, the little child who changes the giant’s heart. A beloved classic, The Selfish Giant may be Oscar Wilde’s greatest story of redemption and forgiveness.
Adapted for Planet Storytime by Thomas Mitchell with music by Pax Stanley.
We hope you enjoy it!

Greetings fellow, Planet Storytime Listeners!
It's been far too long since our team has provided the PSP Universe with a hard update on the state of the show, our future and plans for 2024. For those of you who have been with us since the beginning back in the late summer of 2019, we salute and thank you! Without your support, we wouldn't have a show! For those of you just now achieving orbit around our planet, welcome! We have much to discuss!
As many will attest, our production schedule since 2021 has been, at best, erratic. There are many reasons for that including Covid-19, Thomas and Paxton's careers and family priorities, lack of funding (we're talking to you, generous listener! SUBSCRIBE!), and the challenges associated with generating rich, new, content.
Our original goal for PSP was to build on the energy and vibe of Mr. Rogers, Sesame Street and The Electric Co. from the 1970s, meaning, yes, we tell stories, but occasionally we make weird music or share gorgeous poems. Without demands from sponsors, we've been able to make this show whatever we wanted it to be. Sometimes we hit the mark and other times, not so much, but that's okay because our focus has always been our listernship and a sincere hope that people understand we've always done this show with love in our heart with content that stirs up all kinds of pictures in one's head.
We will conitnue to run "re-runs" given that as our younger listeners grow and begin to focus on different kinds of content, new listeners show up every day. Our stories are timeless - they are not dependent on current trends and it will always be someone's first time hearing Crow & Beetle. But new content is what keeps the show sharp and thriving and more new content is coming!
For now, Paxton asked that we re-publish the full first act of The Beatru Chronicles as he's nearly completed the second act and it should be published later this spring!
Originally apearing for the first time on 12/6/2020 as PSP34, The Beatru Chronicles tells of the adventures of Beatru, a young girl who wakes from a dream to find that she's actually in a strange land with strange creatures and there begins the long journey for our heroine as she navigates this strange world in search answers, a way back home, and perhaps a clear explanation for the disappearance of her parents.
We're excited for the upcoming release of Act II in the months ahead! For now, enjoy act I!
This episode features chapter markers in the podcast itself:
Chapter 1 - The Clearing
Chapter 2 - The River and the Turtle
Chapter 3 - Stampede
Chapter 4 - Colonel Rhys
Chapter 5 - Friends in High Places
Chapter 6 - Clarity and Purpose
Thank you!

How did the camel get its hump anyway? And how important is it to pull your own weight and to work hard in life? In this Rudyard Kipling story, Thomas Mitchell seeks to answer these questions with yet another amazing example of his wonderful narration.
Paxton Stanley brings another gorgeous music soundtrack to this classic tale.
We hope you enjoy this remastered classic from our first season!

Welcome back to Planet Storytime!
In this episode of the podcast, Thomas Mitchell and Paxton Stanley deliver one of L. Frank Baum's often overlooked classics, The Wonderful Pump, a story that dramatically illustrates how greed taints best possible outcomes and the crucial need to remain mindful when opportunity presents itself. We also learn how pride built around one's perception of how the world views them is often a terrible pitfall.
We hope you enjoy it!

Greetings from Planet Storytime!
(While we continue development on the new Beatru stories and several other originals, we are proud to bring back one of our favorites, and one of TM Ganim's greatest stories, How The Bald Man Came To Be!)
