A bedtime story for children. This morning, Mom packs a little bag: a toothbrush, pajamas, and Mochi, right on top. Today, Emma is going to Auntie's house. Before leaving, Mom makes her a promise: you'll play, you'll laugh, and tonight, I'll come get you. "Mom's coming back?" asks Emma. "Mom's coming back. Always." Then comes a big hug, all round, all warm, with Mochi, her lovey, squeezed in the middle. His heart goes poc-poc-poc, so fast, and he keeps that hug very preciously.

At Auntie's, everything is new: a new table, a new rug, toys Emma doesn't know, a new smell, a chair a bit too big. Too much new all at once is a lot for a little girl, and Emma holds Mochi very tight. But Auntie is gentle. There is a nice snack, a brand new song, a game that slowly becomes a little less unfamiliar. Emma plays, laughs, and gets very tired. Then the door opens, and there is Mom, just as promised.

That night, the Evening World wakes up and Pantin asks how the day at Auntie's went. Nina finds Mochi quite laden. There is a lot to put away tonight, so Nina suggests one thing at a time, in order: first the new table, then the new rug, then the unfamiliar toys, one by one. Then Mochi opens his heart. Right on top of the Cuddle Box sits a golden yarn ball, warmer than all the others: this morning's hug from Mom, before she left. Mochi kept it close to him all day long. Mom's hug never leaves, even when she isn't there.

This gentle story about separation anxiety puts simple words on a big idea for a two-year-old: Mom always comes back, and while she's away, her love stays right there. The morning hug becomes a little reserve of warmth for the whole day. A reassuring episode for children who are starting daycare, a babysitter, or a first day with family.

At the very bottom of the box, there is also an older yarn ball, from the first time Emma slept away from home, and that one turned out well too. Ball rolls up to the box to add a little of her evening joy, and Mochi winds the golden yarn ball around the day's too much new. Pantin falls asleep while telling about the neighbor's cat, back in his day. In the morning, Emma opens her eyes, and Mom is right there. "See, sweetheart? Mom's coming back. Always."

No one tells Emma she is too big to hold her lovey tight in a new place. Mom promises before leaving, comes back before bedtime, and the Evening World puts the new things away one by one: this way of making a separation feel safe is the whole spirit of Tilibou bedtime stories. And next time, at Auntie's, it will all be a little less new, and a little more familiar.

A screen-free lovey story for children from age 2, perfect to enjoy warm and cozy at bedtime, in the car, or before a nap. As always with Tilibou, the ending stays soft and quiet, without music, so your child can drift off to sleep without waking anyone up. 🧸
