Peter Ep 3 — The Rock and the Rebuke | Carpooling with Heroes of the Bible Kids Devotional Kids Bible

Hey Carpool Crew! 👋 In today’s episode of Carpooling with Heroes of the Bible, Peter has one of the biggest moments of his life — and one of his most humbling ones, too.

First, he boldly declares that Jesus is “the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” And Jesus gives him a brand-new identity: Peter, the rock — the one He’ll use to build His church.

But just a few verses later, Peter completely misunderstands what kind of Messiah Jesus really is. He tries to protect Jesus from the cross… and Jesus rebukes him with the words, “Get behind me, Satan!”

We’ll unpack the history and culture behind Caesarea Philippi, the “gates of Hades,” and why Jesus chose that moment and that place to reveal His true identity. You’ll learn how Peter went from foundation to roadblock in one conversation — and how Jesus still loved him through it all.

Because knowing who Jesus is is the first step. But trusting how He works is what builds real faith. 🙏
