Coming and Going

In "Coming and Going," a pair of birds who have never known winter build their first nest in a field full of flowers and humming bees. One sings out of pure happiness, the other fills the days with eggs, hungry yellow beaks and proud first flights. Then the leaves begin to fall, the frost arrives, and the father-bird falls silent, haunted by a strange call he cannot name. What do two parents do when their joyful season ends?
