The Three Love-Oranges

The Three Love-Oranges is a fairy tale following a prince who vows to marry only a girl as fair as snow and rosy as blood. A fairy grants him three enchanted oranges, each hiding such a maiden — but he must act swiftly or lose her. When he finally succeeds, a jealous woman from a nearby palace uses a magic pin to steal the maiden's form, replacing her with a dove. The prince returns home to an imposter bride, unaware that his true love sings desperately at the kitchen window.
