August 26: ST. MARIAM BAOUARDY: The Little Nothing

From the podcast Catholic Sprouts: Daily Podcast for Catholic Kids

·06:55

St. Mariam Baouardy, an orphaned servant girl left for dead at thirteen, was nursed back to life by Our Lady herself.

After refusing to renounce her Catholic faith, young Mariam Baouardy was attacked and left for dead in the streets of Alexandria — and woke in a cave, healed and cared for by a woman in blue she came to recognize as Our Lady. She went on to join the Carmelites, help found the first Carmelite monastery in Bethlehem, and lived a life of deep, hidden prayer marked by extraordinary mystical gifts.

"She called herself 'the Little Nothing.'"

⭐Following St. Mariam's example doesn't have to end when the episode does.
