The Words

"The Words" brings language itself to life as Beautiful, Gorgeous, and Glorious lament that no one uses them anymore. Meanwhile, Wonderful complains of the opposite problem — overuse so relentless it has left the word exhausted and meaningless. The exchange is sharp and quietly funny, building to a moment where Wonderful rallies the neglected trio with a reminder that precise, specific words matter. The story ends with all four words sharing a laugh at the perfect, unplanned irony of the final line.
