The Earth Visits the Moon

"The Earth Visits the Moon" reimagines a lunar eclipse as a rare, cherished conversation between two old friends. The Moon dresses in his finest light, eagerly awaiting the Earth's shadow to fall across his face. When the Earth finally arrives, she explains her easygoing nature — letting rain fall, children dig, and the sun scorch her without complaint. But her most revealing remark is why she keeps her visits short: scarcity makes wonder possible. Below, crowds gather on rooftops and in gardens, necks craned, eyes wide, proving her entirely right.
