The Visitors

"The Visitors" follows Lillian, a girl confined to bed with a sore throat, who transforms the tedium of eating bland invalid food into a delightful game. Greeting each dish — cornstarch and jelly — as titled nobility like Lord Cornstarch or Prince Jelly, she addresses them with mock courtly ceremony before consuming them. The story captures the quiet inventiveness of a child making the best of an uncomfortable situation, finding genuine fun in the smallest, most unlikely moments.
