The Climbing Perch

"The Climbing Perch" follows a family of fish in Africa whose river slowly dries up, threatening their survival. When panic spreads, the wise and unflappable Granddaddy Climbing Perch gathers the family and tells them a remarkable story — how a Fairy Queen once blessed their ancestors with the ability to crawl overland from pond to pond during droughts. Drawing on that inherited gift, the family sets out across dry ground, moving five times before finally finding a home that holds water for good.
