The Huckleberry Pickers

The Huckleberry Pickers is a gentle summer story about a group of tired, ragged children who spend a long hot morning picking berries to sell door to door. When they knock at a neighbour's gate, the children inside have no money — but they offer lemonade, sponge cake, and a cool brook to wade in. What begins as a simple act of hospitality grows into something neither group expected: a new friendship and the promise of many lemonade parties to come.
