The Fairy Queen Story

The Fairy Queen Story by Mary Graham Bonner follows a group of newly hatched chicks who panic the moment their shells crack open, fearing they can never return to the safety of what they knew. When a fairy queen speaks softly from just out of sight, she draws a tender comparison between chicks outgrowing shells and children outgrowing shoes and clothes — reminding them that growing forward is not a loss, but a gift. The chicks' fear gradually softens into wonder as the wide barnyard opens before them.
