Gypsy the Cat

Gypsy the Cat tells the story of a scrappy stray taken in by young Marian, who names her on the spot and brings her home for warm milk and a fresh start. Perched atop the bookcase during dinner, Gypsy watches the family with quiet dignity — glancing over, then looking coolly away whenever anyone catches her eye. Funny and tender, the story captures a cat who accepts kindness entirely on her own terms, never once letting anyone mistake her for a beggar.
