The Elephant’s Bath

The Elephant's Bath follows Steve, a circus elephant who slips away before his act to find the river he spotted at the end of town — determined to have a proper wash, not a backstage scrub. With quiet confidence and cheerful trunk-waves, he greets schoolchildren, baffles their cautious mothers, and wades into the cool water for a gloriously satisfying soak. The story captures Steve's gentle reasoning and unshakeable sense of what he deserves, building to a moment of pure, unhurried joy before his keepers catch up.
