The Clever Fire Horses

"The Clever Fire Horses" opens at a burning barn on the edge of town, where the real drama isn't the fire but the fire horses refusing to stay calm. These seasoned, unflappable animals kick and fuss against their harnesses until one veteran fireman trusts their instinct over his own eyes and investigates. Inside, he finds a terrified old road horse trapped in the smoke. The story builds quietly toward a reunion that carries more feeling than any dramatic rescue scene could.
