Christmas Eve

"Christmas Eve" by Eugene Field is a hushed lullaby poem set beneath a snow-covered world where stars dance and angels sing through the night. A gentle, reassuring voice urges a beloved soul to close its eyes and drift into dreams, guided by angels toward beaming stars. A shepherd tenderly calls his lambs to rest upon his breast, weaving an image of divine love and protection. The poem holds an aching sweetness, balancing winter's quiet stillness with the joyous ringing of the heavens above.
