Christmas Morning

"Christmas Morning" is a Christmas poem that traces a heavenly chain of waking: angels rouse a sleeping star, the star's song stirs church bells, and the bells float through the morning air to wake a child in their bed. Tender and luminous, the poem builds from the cosmic to the intimate — from angel hosts bearing tidings across the sky to a parent kneeling with a small child to share the "universal hymn of love" on Christmas Day.
