The Star of Bethlehem

"The Star of Bethlehem" by Eleanor L. Skinner opens on the night after the great star has guided shepherds and Wise Men to the manger. When the star suddenly shatters into millions of glittering fragments that drift down to earth, an old man mourns its loss. But the next morning, children discover the meadows carpeted in tiny star-shaped blossoms — and rush to bring them as a gift to Mary and the infant Jesus, revealing that heaven's glory has not vanished but taken root among us.
