Little Piccola

Little Piccola is a short Christmas story about a poor Italian girl living alone with her hardworking mother in an old stone house. When American children move next door and tell Piccola about Santa Claus and Christmas stockings, she is enchanted — until Christmas Eve arrives and she realises she owns no stockings at all. With tears on her cheeks and only a wooden shoe to leave by the chimney, she hopes Santa will understand. What she finds inside it the next morning is small, living, and entirely unexpected.
