The Goblins’ Christmas

"The Goblins' Christmas" is a lively Christmas poem in which mischievous goblins, elves, witches, and sprites riot through the night sky on Christmas Eve — upsetting stars, breaking Orion's sword, and drinking witches' broth under a sneering moon. When Kris Kringle appears with his sleigh, a hundred goblins clamber aboard to bind him hand and foot. But Kris is no ordinary traveller — he raises his mystic wand, and the cackling horde falls suddenly, stiffly silent, transformed into toys for children rich, poor, and forgotten.
