The Old Lady And The Slugs

The Old Lady and the Slugs is a short story about a determined gardener whose clever plan to rid her garden of slugs sets off a chain of increasingly chaotic consequences. When she invites mice to eat the slugs, then foxes to eat the mice, then wolves to eat the foxes, each solution creates a bigger problem than the last. The story builds with darkly comic energy as the old lady grows more desperate — until an unlikely alliance with the very creatures she despised offers her a way out.
