The Fairies' Dolls

The Fairies' Dolls is a short fairy tale about a fairy queen who grants her subjects a most unusual wish — dolls to play with, just like mortal children have. When the fairies ask for playthings of their own, the wise Queen leads them at midnight to a garden of hollyhocks, transforming each blossom into a doll with a brilliantly colored dress. But the gift comes with a condition: every doll must be returned to its place before dawn, or they will be taken away forever.
