The Nutcrackers and the Sugar-tongs

The Nutcrackers and the Sugar-tongs is a whimsical short story about two inseparable kitchen utensils who abandon their quiet life on a table to gallop off into the world on cream-colored ponies. When the Nutcrackers propose the daring escape, the Sugar-tongs agree without a second thought. Behind them, the entire kitchen erupts — Cups and Saucers dance, Plates peer through windows, and the Frying-pan insists it must all be an illusion. But nothing can stop the two friends as they race through town toward an open horizon.
