Saint Nicholas and Pete

"Saint Nicholas and Pete" tells the story of the beloved Dutch gift-giver whose origins stretch back centuries to Turkey and beyond. Through a chain of tales — including a generous act of three bags of gold left for three poor girls — readers follow Saint Nicholas as he travels across countries, changes his clothes and customs to fit each land, and arrives in Holland each year by steamship with his loyal horse. At his side is Pete, his cheerful helper who carries toys, candy, and secrets.
