The Easter Rabbit

The Easter Rabbit is a short story in which Lady Spring, eager to end winter's grip on the forest, searches for a brave messenger to carry news of her arrival to the children in the city. Robin, Red Fox, and Black Bear each decline — until a timid Bunny Rabbit agrees to venture out at midnight, armed with a mossy basket of coloured eggs and wild flowers. The story weaves together the awakening of the forest, the return of birdsong, and one small rabbit's quiet act of courage.
