The Fairy's New Year Gift

"The Fairy's New Year Gift" is a short fairy tale in which two boys, Carl and Philip, each receive a mysterious blank book from a fairy sent by Father Time. When she returns a year later to collect the books, the boys discover that every page has been filled — some with beautiful flowers, birds, and golden colours, others with dark blots and ugly scratches. As the fairy explains what each mark means, the boys begin to understand that their own choices, kind or careless, have quietly shaped every page.
