Chasing the Fireworks is a short bedtime story about Bauro, a boy from the island of Kiribati, and his best friend Blaze — a dragon with a love of colorful skies. When the two fall asleep before the New Year's Eve fireworks even begin, they wake up heartbroken. But Bauro hatches a clever plan: fly east across the international date line, where it is still New Year's Eve. Together they chase the setting sun across the ocean toward the Hawaiian coast, hoping the night isn't over yet.
