Uncle Wiggily And The Dusty Carpet

Uncle Wiggily and the Dusty Carpet is a short story following Uncle Wiggily Longears, a rabbit gentleman who returns home to find his hollow stump bungalow turned upside down by Nurse Jane Fuzzy Wuzzy's enthusiastic house cleaning. Hungry and growing impatient, Uncle Wiggily discovers that supper won't be served until one very dusty carpet is beaten clean — a task that seems to stretch on endlessly. Rather than go hungry, the resourceful rabbit hatches a cheerful plan involving a nearby baseball game and a handful of five-cent coins.
