Uncle Wiggily And The Red Queen

"Uncle Wiggily and the Red Queen" is a free short story for children where Uncle Wiggily Longears, a cheerful rabbit gentleman, sets out through the woods after hearing a red ant mother weeping over her missing daughter, Crawlie. He finds the little ant trapped beneath a fallen acorn shell and frees her with ease. But the strangest surprise comes when a mysterious Red Queen appears on a mossy log — and reveals she has been watching his every act of kindness, waiting to repay it in a most spectacular way.
