Uncle Wiggily Helps Jimmie

"Uncle Wiggily Helps Jimmie" is a charming short story in which young Jimmie Wibblewobble, a duck boy, sets off on an urgent errand to fetch Dr. Possum for their ailing household dog, Old Percival. When a sharp stone leaves Jimmie unable to walk, he spots a pony in a nearby field and decides to fly onto its back — only to discover he has startled the wrong horse entirely. The terrified pony bolts down the road with Jimmie clinging on for dear life, wondering if anyone will come to his rescue before he falls.
