Uncle Wiggily And The Potatoes

Uncle Wiggily And The Potatoes is a short story in which the elderly rabbit Uncle Wiggily sets off fortune-hunting with his new companion, the red monkey. When the two stumble upon a stone fireplace and a nearby potato field, they seize the chance for a warm lunch — but their cozy campfire meal is cut short when a thrown cocoanut wakes a furious skillery-scalery alligator lurking in the bushes. With the monkey in serious danger, Uncle Wiggily must think fast and act bravely using only what is close at hand.
