Uncle Wiggily And The Parrot

Uncle Wiggily and the Parrot is a short story following Uncle Wiggily, an elderly rabbit with rheumatism, as he sets out one morning alongside a pony and a lame squirrel boy. On his way back through the woods, he discovers a cheerful green parrot perched in a butternut tree, singing a sailor's song. The parrot joins Uncle Wiggily and his red monkey companion for dinner — but when a sly fox breaks in through the window that night, it falls to the parrot's astonishing voice to send the intruder fleeing in pure terror.
