Uncle Wiggily And The Pulpit-jack

Uncle Wiggily and the Pulpit-Jack is a short story in which the kindly rabbit gentleman, Uncle Wiggily, frees a Jack-in-the-Pulpit plant trapped beneath a heavy stone on his way to fetch groceries for Nurse Jane Fuzzy Wuzzy. The plant promises to return the favour — and gets the chance sooner than expected when the hot sun ignites Uncle Wiggily's box of matches, threatening to burn his entire bundle. With bread and crackers in danger, only the rain-filled pitcher pulpit stands between disaster and supper.
