Uncle Wiggily And The Horse Chestnut

"Uncle Wiggily and the Horse Chestnut" is a free short story in which the rabbit gentleman Uncle Wiggily, setting out to visit the ailing Grandpa Goosey Gander, stops to help a thirsty horse chestnut tree and her young pony chestnut saplings. Carrying pail after pail from the duck pond, he asks nothing in return — but when a growling, hugging-minded bear corners him on the way home, the grateful trees are ready to return the favour in spectacular fashion.
