Uncle Wiggily And The Butternut Tree

Uncle Wiggily and the Butternut Tree is a short story following Uncle Wiggily Longears, a gentlemanly rabbit who heads out to fetch butter for supper, only to return and find it mysteriously gone. The culprits turn out to be Toodle and Noodle, two young beavers who greased a fallen log with it to create a makeshift slide. With the stores now closed and supper butter-less, a surprising forest voice offers an unexpected solution that saves the evening.
