Uncle Wiggily’s New Year’s Horn

Uncle Wiggily's New Year's Horn is a short story about a clever rabbit gentleman who overhears a poor boy's quiet disappointment on New Year's Eve — unlike his friends, Jimmy has no horn to blow the Old Year out. When Billie Wagtail the goat mentions his shed horns, Uncle Wiggily sees his chance. With Nurse Jane's help, he crafts two real working tooters and leaves them secretly on the children's doorstep — just as midnight strikes and the New Year arrives.
