A Halloween story

"A Halloween Story" by Loretta Ellen Brady follows Babette and Anton, the children of a poor mountain lumberjack, on an extraordinary Halloween night that begins with a carved pumpkin rolling away on its own. When the pumpkin escapes and calls every vegetable in the garden to follow, the siblings plunge into an underground forest teeming with dancing cabbages, mischievous potatoes, and genuine witches riding broomsticks. Anton must decide whether to reclaim his ruined garden or trust a grinning pumpkin's promise — a choice that could change his family's fate forever.
