The Tricycle

"The Tricycle" is a charming short story about a little boy whose one unshakeable Christmas wish is a tricycle. His parents buy one in secret and must work together to smuggle it home and hide it — all while gently distracting their eager son with biscuit-cutting, popcorn-shelling, and wool-winding to keep him from the front door at just the wrong moment. The story builds quiet suspense through small domestic details, capturing the warm tension of a secret nearly unravelled and the joy of a wish finally granted.
