The Yule Log

"The Yule Log" by Maud Lindsay brings a Christmas morning to life in a village Hall, where a great green log is hauled through the streets with shouts of "Hail, Christmas Log!" The Squire lights the fire with a saved piece of last year's log, carrying warmth from one Christmas to the next. As evening falls and guests gather, the Squire's lively little son sets the night in motion — pointing his finger at the stern village Justice and unwittingly crowning him storyteller.
