Uncle Wiggily and the Hatter is a short story that begins with a simple errand — buying carrot coffee — and takes a delightfully unexpected turn. When Uncle Wiggily encounters the Hatter from Alice in Wonderland, he discovers a crisis: a 5 o'clock tea for Alice has no tea. With sticky lollypop paper, a coconut shell kettle, milkweed cream, and a squeeze of umbrella plant water, the two improvise a solution together, racing the clock before Alice and the March Hare arrive at their makeshift stump table.
