Uncle Wiggily And The Garden Maid | Stories About Gardens

The story follows Uncle Wiggily Longears, a cheerful rabbit gentleman who enjoys daily adventures. On this particular day, after a conversation with his housekeeper, Nurse Jane Fuzzy Wuzzy, Uncle Wiggily ventures out to purchase perfume. Along the way, he encounters a garden maid whose nose was nipped off by a blackbird, referencing a scenario from a Mother Goose nursery rhyme. Displaying his characteristically kind nature, Uncle Wiggily seeks out help from Jimmie Caw-Caw, a crow, to retrieve the maid’s nose. Jimmie is successful, and with the help of Dr. Possum, the nose is reattached, allowing the maid to finally smell the perfume. The story highlights themes of kindness, adventure, and the whimsical interplay between storybook narratives and everyday life.
