A Tiny Seed | African Folk Tales

This biographical story introduces Wangari Maathai, a Kenyan girl who loved nature and pursued education despite initial challenges, eventually studying abroad. Returning to Kenya, she found deforestation causing hardship, particularly for women. Wangari initiated a powerful solution by teaching women to plant trees from seeds, which restored the environment, provided resources, empowered communities economically and socially, and grew into a widespread movement across Africa. Her incredible work earned her the Nobel Peace Prize, demonstrating the profound impact one individual's dedication to environmentalism and community action can have, leaving a lasting legacy visible in the millions of trees planted.
