Mistress Pussy’s Mistake | Animal Stories

This story tells of a cat, Pussy, who wears a bell to warn birds but still tries to deceive a thrush into becoming her prey through flattery and pretending to be slow and hard of hearing. The clever thrush sees through Pussy's tricks, keeps moving away on a branch overhanging a lake, and ultimately evades the cat's final lunge, causing Pussy to fall into the water instead. The tale serves as a cautionary fable about how deceit can backfire, illustrating the moral that those who set traps for others may fall into them themselves.
