Uncle Wiggily And The Sky-cracker

Uncle Wiggily and the Sky-Cracker is a short story following Uncle Wiggily, a wandering old gentleman rabbit who accidentally grabs a lit sky-cracker — half firework, half firecracker — and is blasted into the air, clinging on for dear life. With the fuse burning and an explosion imminent, his only hope is a bumble bee he once helped and two brave sparrow children with a grocery basket. Warm, funny, and surprisingly tense, this tale rewards a small act of kindness in the most spectacular Fourth of July fashion.
