Baby Caterpillar | Animal Stories

This story follows a tired baby caterpillar who, after a summer of eating leaves, decides to rest as autumn arrives. She spins a silky blanket (cocoon) around herself and sleeps safely inside her cradle through the cold winter, protected from Jack Frost and harsh weather. When spring arrives with warming sunbeams, the caterpillar awakens, breaks free from her cradle, and discovers she has transformed into a beautiful yellow butterfly, ready to fly and play in the spring air, illustrating the lifecycle change from caterpillar to butterfly through the changing seasons.
